Katy Allen earned her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College in Broxville, NY in 1997. Before returing to a Master's program, she worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center's Lymphoma outpatient clinic in New York. In 2001, she returned to Alabama and to school, entering the University of Alabama's Library and Information Studies master's program. Upon the completion of her program, she won a Fulbright Scholarship and studied in Germany for a year. She has been with the College of Community Health Sciences since 2005 as the Technical Services/Systems Librarian.
