Organization of Course

This course is organized over an eight week block.  Students will spend time on Neurology and Psychiatry as indicated in this rotation schedule.

Clinics - Each week, the student will attend half-day clinics at UMC, Bryce Hospital, or Neurology Consultants.  (There may be modifications of this depending on the number of students per rotation).  This will include exposure to EMG’s, NCV’s, EEG’s, and Carotid Ultrasounds.

Call - Students will sign up for at least one weekend call, during which they will work one-on-one with an attending neurologist for a 48 hour period.

 

             Learning Sessions

1.  There are weekly Problem-Based Learning sessions for all

     students, led by Dr. Marsh, on Monday afternoons at 1:30 at

     University Medical Center.  Cases will be distributed at the

     session.  Students are expected to use free times, evenings

     and weekends to work on these cases.

 

2.  There are supplementary didactic sessions with Drs. Potts and

     Geyer on selected Fridays at noon.
