The Alabama Quality Award is modeled after the prestigious, national Baldridge Award and recognizes performance excellence. We received a Level 2 Award which shows our commitment for continual improvement.

The Alabama Quality Award is modeled after the prestigious, national Baldridge Award and recognizes performance excellence. It is rare that Student Health Centers are recognized with this award. More frequently applied in the traditional business world , this award is a standard of excellence that quality driven organizations aspire to achieve.
Alcohol Prevention Excellence Award, Highest Honors with $10,000 scholarship awarded, 2006. Awarded a second time in 2007.
The Health Promotion and Wellness Department administers the AlcoholEdu for Collegeâ„¢ online education program. For two years we have been nationally recognized by OutsidetheClassroom, Inc., developers of the program, for year round activities in support of prevention education.
Coordinating Council of Student Organization (CCSO)Awards
UA has approximately 300 recognized student organizations. The Dept of Health Promotion and Wellness sponsors Project Health, a peer education program for students. We are proud to have received the following awards on campus

The Gallagher Koster Innovative Practice in College Health Award, 2008
SHC is interested in helping control obesity on campus. Recently, one of our own dietitians was awarded The Gallagher Koster Innovative Practice in College Health Award by The American College Health Foundation because of our desire to be the on-campus professional resource for obesity.
